Free math games for kids, no ads

Knowing your math facts cold makes every part of math easier. The two free math games on Buildable Kids build that fluency through play: times tables, addition, and subtraction, all in fast rounds that fit any gap in the day. No ads, no account, no download.

Minute Math

Minute Math

Ages 6 to 12 Free, no account

Minute Math is a one-minute timed drill. Your child picks a times table, or a mix of tables, and a full sheet of problems appears. The clock runs for exactly 60 seconds. They type answers as fast as they can, and the sheet marks itself at the end.

Each round takes one minute, so it fits into any gap in the day: breakfast, the car, the five minutes before an activity starts. Progress is tracked across every table from 1 through 12 with a star system, so your child can see exactly which tables are solid and which ones still need work.

Division practice is built in too. Once your child knows a times table, they can flip it and practice the matching division facts in the same drill format.

Math Cannon

Math Cannon

Ages 6 to 12 Free, no account

Math Cannon is the version for kids who need a bit more action to stay engaged. A cannon sits at the bottom of the screen. Numbered targets drift down from the top. A math problem appears, your child types the answer, and the cannon fires at the matching target.

Getting the answer right fires a shot immediately. Getting it wrong means a target slips through. The game rewards both accuracy and speed in the same move, which makes it natural to practice both without it feeling like a chore.

Math Cannon covers multiplication and division, and the difficulty scales as your child improves. It runs on the same 1 through 12 tables as Minute Math, so both tools build the same foundation.

Times tables games

Knowing the times tables cold is the foundation of all higher math. Minute Math drills one table at a time or a mix: your child picks the 6s, a full sheet of problems appears, and the clock runs for 60 seconds. Math Cannon works the same tables in a target-shooting format: a problem appears, your child types the answer, and the cannon fires at the matching target. Both cover multiplication and division from 1 through 12.

The star system in Minute Math shows exactly which tables are solid and which ones still need work, so practice always lands on the table that matters most. A child who plays three short sessions a week can usually clear a weak table from five seconds per answer down to under two in about a month.

Addition games

Minute Math is not only for times tables. Switch the operation to Addition on the setup screen and the same timed-drill format works for addition facts: 60 seconds, a full sheet of problems, then a score. You can set the range from 1 through 12 or wider, so a beginner works the small numbers while a stronger student pushes further. Addition practice in a timed game builds the same automatic recall that times tables practice does.

Subtraction games

The same drill that works for addition also works for subtraction. Select Subtraction on the Minute Math setup screen and the problems flip: 12 minus 7, 9 minus 4, down the page for 60 seconds. Kids who already have their addition facts solid often find subtraction quicker to learn because the pairs are the same. Minute Math tracks subtraction scores alongside addition and times tables, so you see the full picture in one place.

Questions parents ask

What math topics do the games cover?
Both Minute Math and Math Cannon cover multiplication and division. Minute Math also includes addition and subtraction modes, so you can practice all four operations in the same timed-game format. All facts run from 1 through 12.
How is Minute Math different from Math Cannon?
Minute Math is a quiet timed drill: a page of problems, one minute, then results. Math Cannon adds movement and targets. Some kids prefer the steady rhythm of a drill; others need the action to stay focused. Both are free math games with no ads.
Do kids need an account to play?
No. Both games open immediately in any browser. No sign-up, no email, nothing to download. Progress is saved locally on the device between visits.
Are these games really free?
Yes. Buildable Kids is free to use, with no ads and no in-app purchases. The math practice games are always free, on every device, for every family.
